OUR HISTORY:
Named after prominent Richmond resident and magistrate of the provincial court, Robert Cecil Palmer, Robert C. Palmer Junior High School officially opened in 1959 with 769 students in its first year. Palmer originally served grade 7, 8, and 9 students. However, after a fire and a quick renovation between 1978 to the late 1990's, Palmer officially reopened as a grade 8-12 secondary school with the first graduating class walking the stage in June of 1997.

The colours, navy and powder blue were picked by the Student Council in 1959. The motto "KUDOS" meaning for valour reflects our mascot, the Griffin. The Griffin, part of the Palmer coat of arms, is a creature of greek mythology with the features of an eagle and the body of a lion. The Griffin means vigilance, loyalty, courage, and strength.

Since the beginning, Palmer has had a long established line of excellence, whether it be in the classroom, the playing field, or in the arts, one thing prevails: Palmer Pride - show it, share it.
